Minot's only Drug Free powerlifting team lifts out of the Minot YMCA. We started our
club in 2002 when we attended our first NASA (Natural Athletes Strength Association)
national meet in Nashville, Tn. We are are a drug free team that is dedicated to that
cause. Our association is centered in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Rich Peters is the head
of NASA. Norm Judd is the North Dakota state chairman.

Powerlifting Meet at the Minot YMCA
April 17, 2010
We had very good 2010 State meet this year.  We had 27 lifters of very high quality. We
had several American and a host of state records broken. Some the highlites included a
402 lb deadlift by young lady in her first meet. Kathy Leither of Fargo broke American
Records on every attempt. Nicholas Boll of Fargo was our best men's lifter with a huge
733 squat and a 524 bench press.  Josiah Roise from Minot broke two high school
American records in the unequipped bench (314) and a huge 181 curl. Grand Forks lifters,
Adam Suedel and Paul Kadlec set new American standards in several lifts. Craig Meiers
of Grand Forks had a huge 644 deadlift to close out our meet.
Many thanks go out to the Minot YMCA, the judges (Norm Judd, Bill Johnson, Brad
Weber), score table (Kathie Eslinger, Jen Kegley, Doreen Clock), loaders (Bill Matus,
Spenser Danielson, Josiah Roise) and the many YMCA employees that did great deal to
help put the meet on this year.  Of course, you can have a meet without the meet director,
big kudos go out to the National Meet Director of the Year, Norm Judd.
We had so many new lifters mixed with veterans this year that it was our best meet yet.
North Dakota has very outstanding lifters coming up.   Robert Fuller of Bismarck and
Marshall Johnson from Fargo are building a great group of young lifters. We have a
really fine group of lifters right now that do everything they can to help others and lend
support during the meet. We have a few lifters that will be going to the World Cup on Aug
7-8 in Denver. Gary Clock, Robert Fuller and Keith Berger are going for sure as of now.

Josiah Roise has a big day at the Bench
Press Nationals in Denver, May 15-2010
 
Minot lifter, Josiah Roise had  an outstanding day at the
Bench Press Nationals in Denver.  Josiah, who lifted in the
High School 181 lb division, set a New American and World
Record in the Unequipped Bench Press with a fine 319 lbs.  
Josiah also set a World Record in the Powersports strict curl.  
Josiah curled 181 lbs weighing only 175.  
Magic City Muscle wishes to congratulate Josiah on a great
job!  You represented North Dakota very well, young man!
