The Minot YMCA was host to 2009 NASA North Dakota State Powerlifting meet. We had some very
strong new comers and some old veterans that just keep on going. We had several state records set. We
also had 4 American records set in this meet. Craig Meiers from Grand Forks in his first meet set the new
275 lb Pure deadlift record with a strong 614.
Gary Clock, M3 60 year old lifter from Minot set a new American Powerlifting Bench Press record with
446 and a new American Bench Only record with 446 lbs. Gary also broke the long standing total record
with 1571 in the 242 lb class.
We had a big group of unequipped powerlifters that did an outstanding job. Marshall Johnson of Fargo
just keeps getting stronger every time we see him. Robert Fuller of Bismarck is a giant who looks to really
have some huge lifts in the future. Thanks to the staff, judges, spotters/loaders and score table that did
another outstanding job this time. Kudos to Norm Judd for putting on another good meet in Minot.
