62 year old Gary Clock from Minot, ND had a good day at the
Western States. Gary, lifting in the M3 220 lb class, squatted 573
for a new World and American record. Gary bench pressed 402
and deadlifted 474 for 1449 total. Gary won equipped powerlifting,
Bench Only and Push/Pull. He had a great deal of help from Jon
Marshall from Tucson and Rich Kahle from New Mexico. Thanks for
63 year old Keith Berger from Grand Forks lifted in the M3 181
lb class. Keith won in powersports with a curl of 132, bench of
259 and a deadlift of 331 for a total of 722. Keith also won
unequipped Bench Only with a 259 bench. Keith tried his hand
at unequipped powerlifting for the first time. He squatted 204,
bench pressed a World record 259, and deadlifted 331 for a
total of 793. I can see Keith making big gains in this division,
even at the young age of 63!!
